Standing With Romania’s Street Dogs
Across Romania, an estimated 500,000 dogs live on the streets, navigating hunger, injury, untreated illness and unsanitary and impoverished conditions every day. Many are abandoned as puppies before they can learn to survive alone. Others have been neglected for years, left to cope with pain and fear in an environment that offers no protection. For most, life on the streets is a constant struggle, and survival is never guaranteed.
At Aiderbichl Animal Aid, we stand beside these dogs when they have no one else. Working directly on the ground, we intervene wherever we see suffering, rescuing dogs whose lives are at immediate risk and offering care where none existed before.
Every dog we help carries the weight of their past, but each rescue is the beginning of something different: safety, relief, and the possibility of a future free from fear.

Your Kindness Gives Them A Second Chance
Once safe, each dog receives the care they need to recover and rebuild. This includes urgent veterinary treatment, vaccinations, proper nutrition and the time and patience required for both physical and emotional rehabilitation. With consistency and compassion, even the most fearful dogs begin to feel safe and trust once again.
We currently care for around 150 dogs, with new arrivals every week. Your support makes this work possible.
Donations provide warm shelter, lifesaving medical care, daily enrichment, and the stability these dogs need to heal and learn to trust again. Because of you, dogs who once faced neglect and uncertainty are given dignity, care, and a real chance at a loving home.

Help Us Create
Lasting Change
As well as the daily needs and care for our dogs at the shelter we have a bigger vision for them - a brand new, modern, purpose-built sanctuary where every dog is treated with dignity, care and kindness. This would be the first of its kind and never before seen centre with a design backed by science.
The centre will include a home-style puppy house, dedicated bedrooms for dogs, its own veterinary clinic and peaceful spaces for visitors and school groups.
