Giving Tigers
A Home For Life

The Story

Roxy, Sandy, Sonya, and Tango, four beautiful Bengal tigers, were left stranded when the circus that owned them went bankrupt and had no money to feed or look after them. Born in captivity and raised by a trainer, they were used to human contact and had no chance of surviving in the wild. They had nowhere to go and the threat of euthanasia was hanging over them.

Thankfully, their trainer reached out for help. Together, we created a solution: a purpose-built sanctuary in Romania, offering space, safety, and care designed especially for tigers like them.

A Life Worth Living

The sanctuary, which has been purposely built for the tigers to live out their life happily in Romania, is designed to give these them what they’ve always been denied: space, safety, and peace.

With large outdoor areas, a natural swimming pond, cosy heated shelters, and plenty of quiet corners to rest, we’re recreating a life as close to the wild as possible—without the risks. Each tiger will be cared for with individual attention, ensuring they feel secure and respected.

Trust Takes Time

Our team works gently, using kindness and patience to help the tigers adjust. With positive reinforcement—like small treats and soft guidance—they learn to move calmly between indoor and outdoor spaces. Every step is taken with their safety and comfort in mind, giving them the space to build trust and finally just be… tigers.

This sanctuary isn’t just a second chance for these four —it’s a vital refuge for big cats across Europe who can never be returned to the wild. With Bengal tigers becoming increasingly rare, every life we protect matters.

We Need Your Help!

We urgently need your help to finish the big cat sanctuary and care for the tigers long-term. Your donation supports food, vet care, heating, and expert keepers—and helps protect one of the world’s most endangered species, with fewer than 2,500 Bengal tigers left in the world
